PASTOR TODD JONES
“I have two main goals in life: to be a faithful follower of Jesus Christ and to lead as many other people as I can to do the same thing.”
Pastor Todd grew up as a preacher’s kid in the Nazarene denomination, living in New England as a child and in Ohio as a teen. “I really can’t remember a time when I didn’t believe in God. I gave my life to the Lord at summer camp the summer before second grade,” said Pastor Todd. But what cemented his faith was being the recipient of one of God’s miracles when he was in the fifth grade. “I had a genetic hearing loss, complete in one ear and about 50% in the other. But rather than accept the doctor’s diagnosis, my dad asked more than a thousand pastors to pray for me. Then on a Wednesday night, he and the church leaders anointed my ears, and asked for God’s healing. Nothing happened that night but when I woke up the next morning, my hearing was restored.”
Since high school, Pastor Todd has been involved in various types of part-time ministry as a volunteer. (He ministered through music in a traveling teen choir, a college quartet, a contemporary Christian band,) . He was also on staff at various churches as a youth pastor, a children’s pastor, and as an assimilation and outreach pastor, while he earned a living as a band and vocal music director, and a technology teacher at a Christian high school. But eventually he heard God’s call to go into pastoral ministry full-time.
Since July of 2021, he and his wife, Cheryl, have called Living Water Church at Seymour Lake home. “My number one ministry is to be husband to Cheryl and dad/stepdad to our kids: Brady (Ohio), Kevin (Utah), Charles (Michigan), and Austin and his wife Josephine and their two children (Michigan). My daughter Caitlyn passed away when she was 17.”
Pastor Todd’s training includes earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Education from Point Loma Nazarene University in San Diego, CA, a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, a Ministry Preparation Program Certification from the Nazarene Bible College in Colorado Springs, CO, and a Master of Divinity degree from the United Theological Seminary in Dayton, OH.
